Traversing an extensive archive of imagery from the personal and collective unconscious, Bonnie Saland meanders through geographic, literary and spiritual references to create a richly layered iconographic language. Her work incorporates patterning, abstraction, and use of color, reconfiguring many sources, including textile and digital media and has been featured in many national publications. LA and Sea Ranch based Saland holds an MFA from the Massachusetts College of Art and Design program at the Fine Arts Work Center. Saland's design work under the handle "Philomelia" is represented nationwide.
