This bowl is made of a dense, hard stone, and though small in size is heavy in the hand. It has a scalloped rim, with a groove below the scallop treatment, both around the entire rim. This bowl was likely used for preparation of paint or medicine. The interior of the shallow bowl has a smooth patina from many generations of use.
